Installing the covisp.net SSL Certificate for Windows
This guide will show the few steps needed to setup Outlook or Outlook Express to trust the covisp.net SSL certificate.
Open Internet Explorer and go to the following URL: http://www.covisp.net/mail.covisp.net.cer
When the file opens, you will receive a dialog box asking if you wish to Open or Save the file.
- Choose "Open" in the download window.
NB: Some third party download managers can mess up this process. If you have difficulty opening the certificate, disable any third party download manager before downloading the file.
Once the file is transferred (should only take a second or two, even on a dial-up connection) you will be presented with a dialog showing the certificate name and other identification information. The certificate should identify itself as being issued by "mail.covisp.net" and should expire on 26 Feb 2005, (as shown in the image below.)
- Choose "Install Certificate..." here.
You will then be asked where to store the certificate. In order to properly install the new certificate,
- click on "Place all certificates in the following store"
- click on "Browse..."
The sub-dialog which pops up will have a list of Certificate Stores to choose from.
- Choose the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" store
- Click "Okay"
- Click "Next" on the main dialog
Finally you should see a dialog which shows the certificate and the store it will place it in.
- Click on "Finish"
Congratulations, you're done! Now you can take advantage of SSL Certification for covisp.net.
