We will be upgrading the primary server for covisp.net over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Current plans are to transition to the new machine on Saturday 28 Nov in the afternoon and possibly continuing on Sunday 29 Nov in the afternoon. Downtime will be minimal as the current hardware will not be going off-line, we will simply be putting the new machine in place and then transitioning service over to it, however as we transition email services to the new machine it is quite possible that some mail delivery will be delayed and that you will be unable to send mail via the covisp.net mailserver.
The new machine is a huge step up in processing power and memory, so tasks that require a lot of database access will be considerably faster. It’s doubtful if anyone will notice a difference in email processing or the speed of webpages loading, though tasks like updating Wordpress will be faster.
We will also be changing the back-end of the email system which should result in faster webmail access for everyone.
